Awakened in my Faith!

“Aroused by faith, Moses, when he had grown to maturity and became great…”  Hebrews 11:24

It is interesting that Moses had to be aroused by faith.  The word “arouse” means to be awakened; to be stirred up and awakened from slumbering.  We can get so consumed and overwhelmed with the struggles of life that we become discouraged to the point that our spirit slumbers, or shuts down and sleeps.

When you give in and are overcome by discouragement, you have a slumbering spirit.  An awakened spirit keeps you focused on what God is doing; even in the midst of trouble, you see the light.

There is so much bad news today that many are overtaken with discouragement. We need to ask God to awaken our spirit. All those who are called to be a modern day “Moses” need to wake up. Those who are called to be a modern day “Elisha” or “David” all need to wake up and take their post. It is not a time for some to sleep and some to work; it is a time for everyone to wake up and do what they were born to do. We were born in this time in history for a reason. It is time for everyone to face this reality and embrace who they are, and what they were called to do. (Romans 13:11)

Prayer: Wake me up Lord – I want to discover my divine calling, and know what I am to do in the work of the Kingdom.”

Don’t Flinch in the Face of Adversity

Have you ever been in a stressful situation when you didn’t know what to do or which way to go?  It is in these stressful times that the enemy plays his sly tricks.  Remember your enemy is a thief, and he comes to kill, steal and destroy and his primary target is your faith.  He knows you are dangerous to him as long as you have faith.  So, his goal to steal, kill or destroy your faith by tricking you.

In the stress of the moment he will try to trick you into believing his lies.  When times are hard, he tricks you into thinking all is lost.  All is not lost! That is a lie straight from the enemy.  God’s word says, “all things are possible to those who believe”.  The feeling of hopelessness is also a trick.  The feeling that you are all alone and that “no one cares” be aware this is another one of his tricks.  Don’t fall for it even for a second.  He is so tricky that he throws these thoughts and feelings at you when you are preoccupied with the stressful moment.  His plan is to catch you off guard.

So, determine ahead of time, don’t be tricked.  Be aware of his seams and tricks.   He has different ones for different people.  I have found that what one person falls for another person doesn’t even flinch at.

Take Moses for instance; it was a stressful time when the king of Egypt was raging at him for taking the Children of Israel out of Egypt.  In the Amplified, Hebrews 11:27 says, “Motivated by faith he left Egypt behind him, being unawed and undismayed by the wrath of the king; for he never flinched but held staunchly to his purpose and endured steadfastly…”

With your faith in God move on, your enemy is defeated.

Take the High Way

God’s ways are higher than our ways. Have you ever stopped to think that if you are trusting in what you see with the natural eye or your own abilities you are living in a lower level than where God intended for you to live? His way of life is much higher than your way of life and standard of living.

In comparison, your standard of living is as backwards as living back in the day when the weekly trip to the grocery store was made in a horse and wagon. Back then they couldn’t fathom flying across country in a few hours. In the buggy days they could only go as high as their hands could reach, or as hard as their hands could work.

In spiritual things, you need to check and see if you are living life as if you were back in the buggy days. God’s ways and principles for living are higher than our ways, and His ways make it possible for every believer to live in a better place. You cannot trust your tiny mind to comprehend what God has planned for you. You simply listen to His voice as He is calling you upward.

God’s plan and purpose for Moses took him up the mountain and what He has planned for your life will take you up to a higher place too. God’s plan for you is so great that your mind can not wrap around it, you can only grasp it with your spirit and the road that will take you there is an unseen road that is much higher than the natural road that you see.

You can only rely on His Way; the High Way and His voice that you hear by the spirit,   “This is the Way walk ye in it.” You can trust His Way; the Highway that will take you to the destination He has planned for you.
